I looked back through my journal and I noticed I have a habit of saying I'll post about
things or
stuff in the future, but I never do. So here is a post about
things, meaning my life beyond art posts.
•
A cat appeared. We found her under our deck, and she was very sweet and friendly. After a half of a week, she'd moved into our house. So we had four cats, which is too many. Until it turned out she was pregnant and she had three kittens on my bed. Luckily this was four nights before I went off to Baltimore, so I wasn't displaced from my room for long. Plus, I got a new mattress out of the whole ordeal. More about the kittens later.
• I went to Baltimore. We (meaning
soltian,
kissenliebe, and eventually
rizumcbutt) had a jolly old time preparing for Otakon and talking like the Robo-Geisha narrator. Even if the print shop messed up (doubled my order and forgot Soltian's), but that was sorted out and then there was Otakon. We got a prime placement in the Alley, our supports worked great this year and both Soltian and I hauled in the big cash moneys from our dinky art and commissions (I made about $900). I met a bunch of cool folks, and saw a lot of familiar faces from last year. I didn't leave the Alley, not once, but I sent a lackey to the dealer's room to snag me a Cranidos plush. Cranidos is my new favorite monster did you know.
• After Otakon we did a lot of hanging out, but we also went to Six Flags America, an experience much better than the first time. It was a cool weekday, so there were practically no lines. We went on the Ride of Steel three times
in a row. And we made stoic superman faces. Well, I tried. This must sound so juvenile, but there is a lack of amusement parks in the northwest. I went on my first real roller coaster at age 18. This is sort of a big deal.
• However, during the trip, my wisdom teeth decided to say hello. So this last Monday, I had one yanked. Never had an extraction before, but the thought of it turned out worse than the actual procedure. It's sore now, but half as bad as it was before. One of the remaining teeth can be yanked in a while, but the other two are definite candidates for surgery. So that's fun.
• I have a
cool hat made by a
cool guy. I will take your fursecution as jealousy thank you.
•
( I have kittens. ) There are two boys and a girl. One of the boys is fluffy and the other isn't. The girl is very fluffy and the smartest of the litter. They are six weeks old today and
really need homes soon. If you're local and interested, let me know as soon as you can. Or if any of your relatives want a little grey ball of fluff. We will give you free kitten food. Or else it's off to craig's list with me.
• Today, I went to Uwajimaya/Kinokuniya and got myself an
Arceus and a few other things. But now in the bookstore they have
LITTLE BIGHEAD HUNTER X HUNTER THINGS. HxH merchandise is such a rare find. And look at how many styles they have! I bought two and got Hisoka (!!) and Silva (lolol). I will never be able to give up little dinky plastic things.
• I actually have shows lined up to go to, shock. I now have tickets for Harvey Danger, David Cross and Snow Patrol (shh). What am I.
• I may rename soon. It's looking like
crocoduck is gonna be it. Watch out.
Congrats if you read that. This has been a yearly update please, thank you.
